T Bone Celebrated his President’s Merit Award with The Secret Sisters

Every year in February, The Village is graciously honored to host the pre-Grammy Award celebration for the Recording Academy’s Producers & Engineers Wing. Each studio transforms into a show room for cutting edge audio gear with product demos for all the next big innovations in capturing sound. The night isn’t complete without a live performance or two and the foundation also uses this rare occasion to commemorate our peers and their significant contributions in music to date. This year, in honor of the P&E Wing’s 10th anniversary, producer T Bone Burnett was presented with the President’s Merit Award, highlighting his vast achievements in sound and his unsurpassed knack for making truly renowned records. Following a moving acceptance speech, guests were treated to a live show by one of T Bone’s latest protégés, The Secret Sisters – a talented female duo from Muscle Shoals, Alabama. This unforgettable night in music was made possible through an extraordinary convergence of audio professionals and artists alike. Among friends, cocktails, and fun, the event proved as always, to be a genuine display of the art of recording music.
