Congratulations to our friend Ben Lear on his Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song in a f

Writer: Caitlyn ElizabethCaitlyn Elizabeth

“Ben Lear’s, “Imaginary Friends,” is on the shortlist for the Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song in a feature length film. The song appears in “Olive,” the first feature shot entirely on a cell phone and the only film without distribution or festival appearances to be considered for an Oscar this year. A real underdog story, you might say. Ben Lear is an unsigned, self-distributing artist up against the likes of Mary J Blige, Elvis Costello, Chris Cornell, Elton John, and Lady Gaga (among many others). Listen to his song.

Here’s a fragment from “Olive”.
