The White Stripes: Live at Village Studios – Hosted by KCRW

Meg and Jack#Throwback Thursday

There isn’t much to be said about The White Stripes that hasn’t already been discussed, speculated and feverishly dissected. The Detroit duo has managed to cement their status in Rock and Roll history over the course of six phenomenal studio albums (2007’s “Icky Thump” has been labeled as the groups final LP). No stranger to success – the band has managed to draw both critical acclaim and consumer praise over the course of their career.

In addition to the bands celebrated studio records – The White Stripes eclectic performances have also become stuff of legend. Known for ditching set lists and changing arrangements on a whim – the bands dynamic performances would contain a fascinating “can’t look away ” tension.

Though it is sadly no longer possible to catch the group live – The Village is proud to present a Classic KCRW session featuring the dynamic duo in all their glory.

Biffy Clyro & Garth Richardson Rock the Village With “Opposites”

What do you get when you combine the hottest rock band in Scotland with a famous producer/engineer and a legendary studio? The answer: 3 months of epic happenings. Scotsman invaded the Village this month with the presence of Biffy Clyro, and we fell in love. These talented, yet down to earth guys were hard at work on their new album in Studio A with Garth Richardson, best known for his work with Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickelback and his successful recording school “Nimbus School of Recording” in Canada. The album titled “ Opposites” is expected to be released in January, but in the meantime, check out this video to see some cool footage of their time in Studio and in LA!
