We last wrote about Pete Seeger in June 2013, revealing the “Story Behind” Seeger’s stirring rendition of “Forever Young”.
A pioneer of contemporary folk music, Seeger inspired many activist singer-songwriters. With a career spanning over 70 years, Seeger was an activist himself, promoted political views that landed him in direct confrontations with the government, galvanized the folk movement and influenced icons including Bob Dylan.
Seeger was a courageous, devoted man, full of spirit even to his final days. Garnering multiple Grammy wins, singing at President Barack Obama’s 2008 Inauguration, and named one of America’s Living Legends by the Library of Congress are just a couple honors that define Seeger’s career.
The Village Studios were fortunate to have been used in the recording process of Rod Stewart’s 1988 Album, “Out of Order” – highlighting the genius of Bob Dylan, inspired by Seeger’s “Forever Young”.
Pete, may you stay forever young.
