Lee DeWyze and The Village’s Idol Fever
Since it’s inception in 2002, American Idol has dominated the airwaves and whipped viewers into a frenzy in hopes of discovering the perfect pop star. Thanks to Idol we have artists like Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken, Taylor Hicks, and Season 9 winner, Lee DeWyze. Originally from Illinois, DeWyze struggled to be a musician, working at a paint store by day and gigging with his band at night. He became an early audience favorite while on the show, and his large fan base helped him beat out fellow contestant Crystal Bowersox and take the title. Lee joined assistant Jared Nugent in Studio J this month to write for what we can imagine will be a fantastic upcoming album. The Village had Idol fever this April also playing host to the American Idol/ Ford Music video challenge. The Wojahn Brothers were hard at work in Studio D musically producing this collaboration between amazing session players, the Idol finalists and Ford cars resulting in short music videos aired each week. Francis Buckley engineered with Vanessa Parr assisting.
